  • Responsibilities 

    Monroe Co./Toledo North KOA is seeking full-time (36+ hours per week) workampers that are looking for a fast paced work environment. During peak season (May thru October) this is a high traffic campground, especially on the weekends.

    Located about 45 minutes from Detroit, 30 minutes from Ann Arbor, and 20 minutes from Toledo we are smack dab in the middle of all the festivals, activities, stores, and restaurants the area has to offer but far enough away that you can enjoy nature and not the noises of the city.

    This is a family focused campground with many guests who have been coming here for over 30 years. We put emphasis on activities and themed weekends which draws in a large crowd, especially on weekends. We are finishing our brand new epicenter of fun (Big Kahuna’s Outpost) that will include 2 brand new pools and a splash pad as well as a store, snack shop, bike/boat rentals & more, (Grand opening Memorial Day 2026) which we are expecting will drive reservations through the roof, resulting in a very busy summer.

  • Compensation/Benefits 

    This is a seasonal full time position averaging 36-40 hours/week throughout the season.

    • Pay for all hours worked with a paid 30 min break (DOE)
    • Season: Begins – April 17, 2026 // Ends – November 2026 (We take Workampers starting anytime in that timeframe. But, ask that you stay through Mid-November, as our Halloween Weekends are some of our busiest!)
    • Back-In Full Hook Up RV Site is available at a rate of $50 per pay period – paid bi-weekly, inclusive of water, electric, sewer, cable. **Sites are only available to workampers with an RV for example: fifth wheel, travel trailer, motor home. We do not have cabins available for employee housing.
    • Propane sold to employees at a 25% discount.
    • Kampstore and Snack Shack discounts apply.
    • Access to our entire park for you and your family which includes any activities during our themed weekends and our pools once fully built.

Job Description

The campground recreational activities employee is the whimsical wildfire wizard who ignites epic escapades, from treasure-hunt trails to twilight movie nights, ensuring every camper leaves with stories sizzled like forgotten marshmallows.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and lead a diverse range of recreational activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, music, dramatics, hobbies, and themed events.
  • Greet participants, explain activity rules and safety procedures, instruct at various skill levels, and encourage engagement to build community and ensure everyone feels included.
  • Modify activities to suit specific groups, such as adapting games for children, seniors, or families, and assess participant needs and interests to promote ongoing participation.
  • Set up and organize equipment, facilities, and supplies for events; gather materials and food/beverages as needed; and maintain all recreation areas in clean, safe condition.
  • Enforce safety rules, monitor participants to prevent injuries and report incidents to management while ensuring compliance with health and campground standards.
  • Coordinate with management teams to promote activities and inspire guest engagement; take photos (with releases) to highlight events.
  • Supervise and assist participants during activities, manage group dynamics, resolve complaints/issues.
  • Track inventory of supplies and equipment and report low limits or re-supply requests to management.
  • Handle cash, credit, and gift card transactions using K2, ensuring accurate change, balanced registers, and proper cash-handling procedures at the end of shifts.
  • Foster a positive team environment aligned with campground values, and contribute to overall guest satisfaction through exceptional service.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as registration, reporting on event attendance and feedback, and supporting other campground operations during peak times or special projects.
