Port Lavaca / Matagorda Bay KOA Holiday is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Operations Supervisor who starts early, notices what needs attention, and keeps the team focused on a clean, safe, guest-ready campground. Reports to the General Manager/Owner.
Daily responsibilities:
• Start each workday early with a complete inspection of the property, from the waterfront and fishing pier through RV sites, cabins, recreation areas, restrooms, common areas, and the entrance road.
• Identify safety hazards, cleanliness concerns, maintenance needs, and guest issues. Take immediate action within your authority and promptly report urgent concerns to management.
• Review arrivals, departures, occupancy, special requests, and outstanding guest concerns with the front desk.
• Prepare a prioritized daily to-do list for every employee, with clear assignments and completion expectations based on inspections and campground needs.
• Inspect accommodations and RV sites before guest arrivals to verify cleanliness, condition, supplies, and readiness.
• Supervise housekeeping staff, assign cleaning priorities based on arrivals and departures, inspect their completed work, and ensure deficiencies are corrected.
• Coordinate maintenance, groundskeeping, housekeeping, guest services, and activities so sites and accommodations are ready before arrivals.
• Oversee the events and activities calendar, coordinate staffing and supplies, and ensure activities take place as planned.
• Brief employees on daily priorities, provide practical guidance, and adjust assignments as needs change.
• Follow up throughout the day, inspect completed work, and ensure unfinished tasks are recorded and carried forward.
• Respond courteously to guest concerns and follow through on solutions; escalate issues beyond your authority.
• Check that recreation areas and amenities are clean, safe, and ready to open, with required checks completed by trained staff.
• Handle procurement of operating supplies and merchandise for resale: monitor inventory, anticipate needs, compare vendors and pricing, place orders within approved budgets, and verify deliveries.
• Monitor equipment and coordinate repairs with management.
• Keep a daily record of inspections, assignments, guest concerns, incidents, and outstanding repairs; give management a concise status update.
• Lead by example and follow KOA standards and campground procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned and support campground operations as required, including front desk service, housekeeping, social media promotions, and guest activities.
Qualifications:
• Experience supervising employees or coordinating daily operations; campground, hospitality, property maintenance, or similar experience preferred.
• Strong organization, clear communication, practical judgment, and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow through without constant supervision.
• Comfortable using reservation information, checklists, and basic computer tools.
