Mitchell KOA Journey is a seasonal, guest-focused campground located just outside Mitchell, South Dakota, home of the World’s Only Corn Palace and a convenient overnight stop for travelers crossing South Dakota. Our campground serves a mix of RVers, cabin guests, tent campers, families, road-trippers, and repeat KOA guests who value a clean, friendly, easy-to-navigate campground experience.

We are a high-volume seasonal park with approximately 80 RV sites, cabins, tent sites, a Kampstore, propane service, laundry, playground, pool, dog park, and other guest amenities. Because most of our guests stay only one night, our operation depends on strong daily execution: clean sites, smooth check-ins, friendly guest service, accurate reservations, well-maintained facilities, and a team that pays attention to the details.

Mitchell KOA has a strong guest service culture and consistently performs well in KOA guest satisfaction metrics. Our mission is simple: to make happy campers who tell their friends about us. We believe that happens through humility, teamwork, professionalism, clear communication, and a willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.

The campground is led by General Managers who oversee overall strategy, financial performance, policies, owner communication, and long-term planning. Our on-site team is responsible for delivering the day-to-day guest experience and maintaining the campground standards that make guests want to return.
