  • Responsibilities

    Proficiency in operating various vehicles and powered equipment, including mowers, tractors, Skid Steer or Bobcat, chain saws, and pruning saws, is essential.
    Responsibilities include mowing or edging lawns using power mowers or edgers, as well as handling the movement, lifting, carrying, and pushing of items up to 50 lbs without assistance.
    Tasks also involve blowing leaves from walks, driveways, sites, or parking lots, and applying weed killer in those areas. Additionally, caring for established lawns includes tasks such as mulching, aerating, seeding, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, and trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
    Utilizing hand tools like shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge or brush trimmers, and axes is part of the job. Pruning or trimming trees, shrubs, or hedges using shears, pruners, or chain saws is also required.
    Maintenance duties encompass gathering and removing litter, as well as the upkeep and repair of tools, equipment, or structures such as buildings or fences using hand or power tools.
    Applying fertilizers, weed killer, herbicides, or insecticides onto sites, grass, shrubs, or trees with hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders is part of the routine.
    Ensuring proper upkeep of sites, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, amenities, and other grounds features is crucial. The role also involves completing repairs, including plumbing, electrical work, heating, replacing filters, light bulbs, painting, and repairs to water lines, toilets, sinks, kitchen, and laundry equipment.
    The ability to endure seasonal temperatures, as the work is performed outdoors, is required. The job involves constant standing, walking, lifting, climbing, and repetitive motions.

  • Compensation/Benefits

    The rate of pay starts at $11 per hour – Paid $10 for every hour worked and once the agreement date is met, you will receive $1 for every hour you work. FHU Site is free with a minimum of 30 hours a week (all hours worked paid), you will pay monthly electricity at .14 cents per kilowatt hour, 20% off store and merchandise (coin-operated machines, propane, tobacco, and alcohol are excluded), and a minimum of three KOA logo shirts are supplied. Port Lavaca/Matagorda Bay KOA Holiday has limited sites allotted for our team members. The Hiring Manager assigns all sites based on our campground needs.

Join our team at the Port Lavaca/Matagorda Bay KOA Holiday! A hidden gem where the country meets the bay. We have stunning bay views, wonderful fishing opportunities, and the potential for dolphin sightings, our campground is a delightful escape for visitors. Our location accommodates seven park models, a glamping tent, an RV rental, five baths/showers, a guest laundry, an arcade, a clubhouse, a pizza café, and watersports.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to contribute wherever needed. The positions available include roles in Housekeeping, Activities/Backup Housekeeping, Front Desk/Registration (Full-time), and Maintenance for the upcoming spring and summer seasons. The positions can be part-time or full-time. Starting at 16 hours and up to 40 hours a week. There’s also the exciting possibility of extending your stay through the winter.
