Job Description

Our campground food service employee is the sizzling fry-flipping sensation who grills hamburgers, scoops ice cream and doles out crispy delights with fiery flair, transforming tummy rumbles into triumphant feasts under the evening campfire glow.

We use the K2 system to run our food service so prior familiarity with the system is preferred but by no means necessary as we will gladly teach you how to work it.  We do pancakes every morning from 8am – 10am as well as lunch/dinner everyday with the hours of that varying from week to weekend.

The food services begin on Memorial Day weekend but we’d like for you to be here at the beginning of May so we can get you trained and make sure you’re confident in your duties. There will always be a team of 2 or more as well as management always on property to help with anything you need.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet campers and guests warmly, take orders accurately, provide menu recommendations, and engage in friendly, professional interactions to create a positive atmosphere.
  • Prepare and cook food items (e.g., frying, grilling, assembling snacks) according to recipes, portion guidelines, and brand standards, while adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Handle cash, credit, and gift card transactions using K2 KampStore, ensuring accurate change, balanced registers, and proper cash-handling procedures at the end of shifts.
  • Manage inventory by overseeing stock levels, rotating products (first-in, first-out), dating items, reporting low supplies, and restocking condiments, napkins, straws, and other essentials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the food service area, including cleaning tables, chairs, counters, sinks, and equipment; sweeping/mopping floors; emptying trash; and sanitizing surfaces and fryers daily.
  • Set up and close according to checklists, including signage, equipment temperatures, and end-of-day reports.
  • Refill condiments, shakers, and single-serve items; monitor refrigerator thermometers; and ensure all products are marked with dates and stored properly.
  • Assist with dishwasher operations, laundry of kitchen towels, and other support tasks as needed, such as expediting orders or helping cook during peak times.
  • This role demands physical stamina for standing, lifting, and working in varying weather conditions.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, including wearing uniforms, maintaining a secure work environment, and reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, such as participating in campground events or projects to support overall guest satisfaction.
  • In this role, you are expected to be punctual, prepare meals efficiently, and ensure timely delivery. When you are not busy, you may be asked to assist with additional tasks such as light groundskeeping, restroom checks, or supporting the office/store teams.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization is essential. You’ll be responsible for keeping the food service area in pristine condition at the end of each shift, taking note of supplies that need restocking, and ensuring everything is prepped and ready for the next day.
  • Consistency, reliability, and attention to detail are key to success in this position.

Note: This job description is not intended to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
