  • Responsibilities

    SPECIFIC DUTIES

    Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance/repairs to campground buildings, facilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds as directed by the engineering supervisor.
    Comply with all KOA, federal, state, and local safety programs by adhering to established guidelines in the operation and storage of various equipment, tools and chemicals.
    Maintain compliance with preventative maintenance program through regular inspection of facilities, buildings, cabins, vehicles, and equipment.
    Inspecting equipment to ensure proper functioning of heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, electrical systems, etc.
    Troubleshooting problems with equipment to determine the cause of failure and determine the best solution for repair or replacement.
    Installing new fixtures, equipment, and appliances as needed.
    Safe operation of swimming pool and aquatic water features by maintaining proper pool chemistry while safely handling all pool chemicals.
    Approach all encounters with guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
    Prioritize tasks based upon importance and urgency with conscious planning and thoughtful decision making.
    Comfortable in high-pressure and fast paced situations while maintaining composure and objectivity.
    Maintain property by following the quality assurance manual.

Job Description

Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg KOA is located on the Little Pigeon River in the heart of Pigeon Forge at the foothills of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We are less than a mile from The Ripken Experience, LeConte Center, The Island, Dollywood theme park and Dollywood Splash Country. Downtown Gatlinburg is only 5 miles away, where you can explore unique shops and restaurants. Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers hiking, fishing, biking and beautiful scenic drives.
We are currently hiring maintenance/grounds team members for the 2024 season. If you excel in a fast-paced, positive environment, then this is the job for you! Applicant should be detail-oriented, well organized and have good communication and customer service skills. Experience in electrical, plumbing or carpentry skills a plus! Position will be responsible for general maintenance and upkeep, mowing, weedeating, site escorting, equipment upkeep, firewood/ice delivery, night host/security, pool maintenance, trash pickup, cleaning fire rings, guest services and other duties as assigned. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Applicant should be detail-oriented, well organized and have good communication skills. Must be able to work at least 32 hours per week including nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsible for general maintenance and upkeep of the campground’s buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds.
Perform basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs and maintenance to buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds.
Implement daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and cleaing programs
Comply with all KOA and federal safety programs
Provide superior customer service by being attentive, responsive and helpful to guests needs.
