  • Responsibilities 

    Duties

    You’ll be cross-trained in a variety of campground operations and provided a rotating weekly schedule.
    Typical duties include:

    • Front desk, reservations, and phone support
    • Escorting guests to sites and delivering store or café items
    • Food service and restocking in the café
    • Camp store sales, stocking, and cash handling
    • Housekeeping (2 days every 3rd week)
    • Lawn care, mowing, weed-eating, and general maintenance
    • Trash pickup, firepit cleaning, and delivering firewood

    Requirements

    • Excellent customer service, phone, and computer skills
    • Friendly attitude and strong teamwork mindset
    • Willingness to help in multiple areas and take initiative
    • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and work indoors/outdoors
    • Valid driver’s license; mechanically inclined a plus
    • Able to work weekends and holidays as needed (7 AM – 9 PM rotation)

    We understand that team members have talents in certain areas and try to place them accordingly.

    Compensation & Schedule

    • $12.50/hour for all hours worked

    • 28–35 hours per week

    • Work 3 days on / 3 days off — same days off and same schedule for each Workamper team

    • Full-hookup site (FHU) with Wi-Fi and electricity included

    COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

    • $12.50 per hour for all hours worked for experienced work campers.
    •  28-35 hours per week.
      • Work schedule rotation 3 days on, 3 days off
      • Same work schedule and same days off as your work partner.
    • A full hook-up (FHU) site with internet.  Electricity is included.
    • We provide a 20% discount on all items in the store (except beer & wine), cafe, and on propane.
    • We provide uniform shirts, and a name tag.
    • We also provide a Badland/Black Hills attractions card that provides you with free or limited entrance fees to various sites.
    • Each work camper couple will be provided a golf cart for usage during their employment with Belvidere East KOA.

    When you’re not on duty, there’s plenty to do. There are several tourist attractions within a 20–100-mile radius. You can play or kayak in several area lakes and rivers, hike around the Badlands or take your fishing pole to one of the local watering holes. If you are an animal lover, our park is visited by many types of local wildlife animals and birds love our lake the surrounds the campground. At night our sky transforms into your own personal planetarium since we are without light pollution. For these reason’s our customers call us a hidden gem on the prairie and choose to stay a couple of nights due to the peacefulness of our location.
    We have our work campers arrive two weeks prior to the official start date (site free of charge) to get use to the Mountain time zone, explore the area before starting work, get your supplies stocked up and just relax and enjoy the campground.

Located in the open grasslands of South Dakota, our campground is a prairie oasis by day and transforms into your own private planetarium after the sun sets across the lake and open plains.

We are a 45-acre campground near the Badlands of South Dakota, featuring 40 RV sites, 5 cabins, tent sites, and a small café onsite. The area is known for its abundant birdlife, local wildlife, and scenic drives through the Badlands and surrounding grasslands.

We are currently hiring 2 Workamper couples. sorry our Single Workcamper openings have been filled.  We are looking for team members who enjoy a fun working environment, smile easily, have a great attitude, are goal oriented, and want to MAKE IT GREAT in a NO DRAMA work environment!

We value team players who take pride in excellent customer service and are self-starters that are able to prioritize tasks throughout the day without micromanaging. Employees are cross-trained on all duties to eliminate boredom throughout the season and to ensure smooth operations across the campground.
