  • Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a safe, fun, clean, and family-oriented environment at all times
    • Continue and grow our regional reputation as a top-tier campground
    • Ensure a positive guest experience by addressing and solving any guest-related issues
    • Supervise store and snack counter operations
    • Manage and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and neighbors 
    • Recruit, train, and lead the on-site team of approximately 14 seasonal employees
    • Plan and oversee a bustling calendar of family-friendly events
    • Manage daily operations including bill payments, recording expenses, maintenance, and scheduling
    • Enforce campground rules and policies fairly for all guests and employees

    Extra credit if you are interested in: 

    • Developing and monitoring marketing efforts to drive sales that maximize nightly rates and campground occupancy, via our website, social media, and Google ads
    • Continually look for opportunities to improve the camping experience for our guests and differentiate our brand

    A successful General Manager will have the opportunity to move on to another one of our parks next season if they desire. You will be working for Newfound Partners, a commercial real estate development company with a variety of business ventures including campgrounds, marinas, and resorts. Job Description

We are seeking a customer service-oriented General Manager for our family-friendly, seasonal campground near Traverse City, Michigan. In this role, you will be directly responsible for managing “inside” operations including reservations, guest services, and our store. You will collaborate with the Grounds Manager to supervise “outside” operations. 

Note: We are very open to hiring a two-person General Manager / Grounds Manager team. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years as a manager of a campground or other hospitality business, bonus if you have previously managed a KOA
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organized, self-starter that can complete tasks without regular supervision
  • Must be accustomed to owning their workload and handle multiple tasks with ease
  • Basic computer proficiency – experience with K2 is a plus
  • Flexibility to respond to resort needs during non-business hours 
  • Knack for improving processes and solving problems
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Warm, welcoming personality
  • Genuine interest in training and developing talent
