Work Camper Couple – Seasonal

Fancy Gap / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA Journey is looking for a friendly, dependable work camping couple to join our team for the season.

We are a busy, family-owned campground where everyone works together. Our ideal team members enjoy people, take pride in a job well done, and are willing to jump in wherever needed to help create a great experience for our guests.

Responsibilities Include

• Guest services, reservations and answering phones
• Checking guests in and helping them find their sites
• Camp store sales, stocking and restocking
• Cleaning cabins, restrooms, showers and common areas
• Light campground and site maintenance
• Mowing, weed trimming and general groundskeeping
• Delivering firewood, food and other items to campsites
• Assisting with campground activities and special events
• Pool and recreation-area upkeep
• Helping guests with questions or needs throughout their stay
• Other campground duties as needed

Who We’re Looking For

We value attitude, dependability and hospitality over campground experience. If you are willing to learn, enjoy staying busy and genuinely like helping people, you may be a great fit for our team.

Our campground can be fast-paced, especially on weekends and during peak travel periods. Team members should be comfortable working both independently and together, switching between tasks when needed and interacting positively with guests.

Applicants should be physically able to perform typical campground duties, including standing, walking our hilly property, bending, cleaning and performing light outdoor work.

Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia, Fancy Gap / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA Journey is a peaceful, wooded campground located just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the charming town of Mount Airy, NC.

We are a family-owned and operated campground where hospitality, teamwork, cleanliness, and genuine care for our guests are at the heart of what we do. Our campground offers RV sites, cabins, tent sites, a swimming pool, fishing pond, camp store, playground, gem mining, and plenty of beautiful mountain surroundings.

We’re also home to Dave’s Smokehouse, where we prepare smoked meats and homemade favorites for our guests—with delivery right to their campsite!

Our campground stays busy, but we believe work should still be enjoyable. We work alongside our team, appreciate people who see what needs to be done and jump in, and value a positive attitude just as much as experience.

Fancy Gap is a wonderful place to spend a season. Days off can be spent exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, visiting waterfalls, listening to mountain music, antiquing, exploring nearby Mount Airy, or simply relaxing and enjoying the cooler mountain air.
